KOCHIA TRADITIONAL DANCERS|| LUO CULTURAL DANCERS|| BURIAL CEREMONY
"It's good here only that it hot and unexpected draught almost clearing crops.. This means hunger may strike some areas and some group of people. Waiting for government intervention if it can have or put some measures. Our people like my area where a good number are small scale farmers and running small scale businesses with a small percentage of youths fishing in the lake Victoria where I border.
We have traditional domination in regards to culture and you may find it interesting and unbelievable that this has turned to be a culture or affect our culture as a community or tribe.
In matters of PLWD, our government has done little for there are good number that is not even going to school.
Madam I think what you are championing is an international challenge that needs attention of every member of our society.
Thank you.

Lets fight depression and celebrate our friends invisible wounds heals. Small Victories leads to large victories The best gift you can ever give to your children is love. Talking about drugs and it's effects can be the best thing we can share the ones we love.
Death bed mentality is an idea we have incorporated in our dance to open people's mind as a new way of looking at their life that reminds them that today could be their last day, so save it to the fullest.
Agreeing that our quality of life will come down to the quality of our contribution to the society. Health over wealth is a journey of happiness.
Many people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
We wanted to share the below disadvantages caused by lack of knowledge:
Perishing in people
Loss of talents
Loss of gifts
Loss of valuable time
Loss of opportunities
Loss of resources deposited in people
Mathare has been a place where our narratives and stories have been told by the voice of others who don't spend enough time with us to appreciate our dignity, our humanity, our resilience, our pride, our confidence and our ability.
Mathare is considered one of the largest, poorest, and densely populated slums in Africa with rampant crime, drug abuse, violence, and violation of human rights overpowering the present.
Most often, the stories shared in the media, and the only time that Mathare hits the headlines is when something tragic, catastrophic or uncalled for happens.
Mathare is hub for diverse cultures, hardworking entrepreneurial women, and talented kids who each day live with a hope for a better tomorrow, despite poor infrastructure and lack of amenities for recreation and physical activity.
In the challenging environment that children in informal settlements grow up in( Mathare:- huruma), we think about what it takes for children to thrive. Motivated Mindset Dancers wants to create a future generation of African children from disadvantaged communities that is resilient, prepared to navigate challenges in their environment and realize their full potential. By providing a quality social-emotional learning program through a local and context-driven solution, we address children’s ability to learn about and manage their emotions and interactions with others—skills all children need to succeed in school, life, and the workplace.
"We want to create safe spaces where you feel like you’re growing, where you belong and can make mistakes. We cannot change the environment, but what we can do is build strong minds. Everything starts with the mind." - This is a quote from our founder :- Brian Owino
While we cannot change a child’s economic situation, we can build strong minds and equip them with the skills needed to create a more equitable chance at academic success. Motivated mindset dancers creates community-led out-of-school dance programs."

MOTIVATED MINDSET DANCERS IN AFRICA
“We dance for laughter, we dance for tears, we dance for madness, we dance for fears, we dance for hopes, we dance for screams, we are the dancers, we create the dreams.”
[Albert Einstein]
It took us more than 2 years to have our resource centre. The training, prayers and sacrifices that came with the hardship of seeing our dream coming true was more than unbelievable.
Imagine having a professional kids and teens dancers who have won multiple awards without a safe space. It was a mesmerized experience and emotional moments in our life. We couldn't face the kids in the eyes to tell them the bitter truth of the oncoming death of our project.
Special appreciation to all the friends, parents and huruma community at large who stood with us and matched to rescue the untapped dream. We are happy and proud to see you all comeby and drop some positive comments and corrections in our inbox to change our dance game. Be blessed and cheers to more years of winning
